Find Your Perfect Feathered Friend

Every adoption changes two lives. At Little Loud Soul Bird Rescue, we take the time to truly understand each bird’s personality, history, and unique needs before matching them with the right family. Through veterinary care, rehabilitation, enrichment, and compassionate guidance, we help create lifelong bonds built on trust, patience, and love.

The Adoption Process

Every adoption is carefully matched to ensure the best possible lifelong home for each bird. Here’s what you can expect throughout the process.

Submit an Application

Complete our online adoption application with as much detail as possible so we can learn about your experience, home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a companion bird.

Application Review

Our team carefully reviews every application and may contact you with additional questions before moving forward.

Virtual Home Interview

Approved applicants will complete a virtual home visit and interview so we can discuss bird care, answer questions, and ensure the home is safe.

Meet the Bird

You’ll be invited to meet the bird and spend time interacting to help determine whether the match feels right for both of you.

Adoption Day

We'll complete the adoption agreement, collect the adoption fee, provide your care packet, and send your new companion home.

Trial Adoption Period

We believe the best way to know if a bird is the right fit is in the home—not during a short visit. Once approved, your adoption is finalized and the adoption fee is collected. You'll then begin a 30-day Trial Adoption Period, allowing both you and the bird time to adjust while still receiving guidance and support from our team. If the match isn't the right fit during this period, the bird may be returned to Little Loud Soul Bird Rescue in accordance with our adoption agreement.

Ongoing Support

Bringing your bird home is just the beginning. We're always here to answer questions, offer guidance, and help you and your bird succeed together.

Every bird adopted through Little Loud Soul Bird Rescue will always have a safe place to return if life circumstances change. If you can no longer care for your bird, we ask that you contact us first. Our commitment doesn't end at adoption—we're here for every bird for life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I adopt a bird?

Our adoption process includes an application, application review, virtual home interview, meet and greet, and a 30-day Trial Adoption Period.

Every application is different, but we work to move qualified applicants through the process as quickly as possible while making thoughtful matches.

Yes! You can apply for a specific bird or let us know you’re open to finding the best match based on your lifestyle and experience.

Yes. But we never ship birds for any reason, so you would need to visit for an in person meet and greet.

The Trial Adoption Period gives both you and your new companion time to adjust in a real home environment while we continue providing guidance and support.

Our Trial Adoption Period is not a foster program. The bird is adopted from the beginning, allowing them to start settling into what we hope is their permanent home. This helps reduce repeated moves, provides stability for the bird, and ensures adopters are fully committed while still giving both the bird and adopter time to confirm it’s the right match. If the placement isn’t successful during the trial period, the return process is outlined in the adoption agreement.

If the placement isn’t successful during the Trial Adoption Period, we’ll work with you to safely return the bird. If it is within the 30 day adoption trial period, you may opt for a 75% refund or pick a different bird. If it is after the 30 day trial period, your adoption fee will be forfeited but you may choose a different bird up to 30 additional days.

Our foster program exists to provide temporary homes for birds in need—not as a way to “try out” a bird before adopting. If you’re ready to welcome a bird into your family, we encourage you to apply through our adoption program, which includes a 30-day Trial Adoption Period and ongoing support.

Every bird receives an initial health evaluation and any necessary care before adoption. We’ll discuss any known medical history with you.

Whenever available, you’ll receive medical records, hatch certificates, DNA results, previous records, and any other documentation we have.

Some birds may come with their current cage that they were surrendered with. Others may require adopters to provide an appropriate cage before bringing the bird home.

Adoption fees help cover veterinary care, food, housing, enrichment, and the ongoing costs of rescuing birds. Fees vary based on species, age, and individual needs.

Yes. Every adopter must contact us first if they can no longer care for their bird. We are committed to every bird for life and ask that they be returned to our rescue.

No. Birds adopted through Little Loud Soul Bird Rescue must be returned to us if they ever need a new home.

No. Adoption fees are due in full at the time the adoption is finalized and before the Trial Adoption Period begins. We do not offer payment plans or holds based on future payments.

We believe birds deserve stability. Rather than moving from home to home while someone decides, our adoption process is designed for people who are ready to make a lifelong commitment. Our Trial Adoption Period provides time to ensure the match is right while giving the bird the opportunity to begin settling into its permanent home.

A Lifetime of Love Starts Here

When you adopt from Little Loud Soul Bird Rescue, you're not just bringing home a bird. You're become part of our family. Our commitment doesn't end on adoption day. We'll always be here to celebrate milestones, answer questions, offer guidance, and provide support whenever you need it. Because every bird deserves a safe place to land!

Welcome to the Little Loud Soul family.
