WE’RE HERE TO HELP
Life doesn’t always go as planned. If you can no longer care for your bird, we’re here to help without judgment. Our goal is to make the transition as safe and stress-free as possible for both you and your bird.
Need help finding a safe, loving future for your bird? Start here.
For rescues needing placement assistance or help transferring a bird.
We welcome surrender requests for cockatiels, conures, Quakers, ringnecks, lovebirds, Amazons, African greys, cockatoos, macaws and other medium to large companion parrots.
We’re currently unable to accept budgies (parakeets), finches, canaries, doves or pigeons. These birds deserve just as much care, but their housing, flock and placement needs can differ from the parrots our foster homes are set up to support. With limited space and resources, we focus on birds whose needs we can consistently meet.
All intakes are by appointment.
Here’s what you can expect after submitting your request. We’ll guide you through every step with compassion, transparency, and care.
Tell us about your bird, their personality, history, health, and your current situation.
We review your request and our current foster availability to determine how we may be able to help.
A member of our team will reach out to ask any additional questions and discuss possible next steps.
If we can accept your bird, we'll work with you to coordinate a safe surrender and transfer.
Submitting a surrender request does not guarantee immediate acceptance. As a foster-based rescue, our ability to accept birds depends on available and appropriate foster space.
Tell Us Everything
Behavioral or medical challenges will not automatically disqualify your bird. The more honest information we have, the better we can prepare.
Veterinary Records
If your bird has veterinary records, medications, test results, or other medical information, please have those available. Records are helpful but not required to ask for help.
Cage & Belongings
Let us know what belongings may come with your bird, including their cage, food, toys, medications, and favorite items.
Location
We are based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and primarily serve Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas. Contact us if you’re unsure whether you’re within our surrender area.
Once your bird enters our care, the focus is no longer on where they came from. It’s on learning who they are, what they need, and what kind of home will help them thrive.
Your bird will settle into an experienced foster home and be given time to decompress and adjust at their own pace.
Every bird receives DNA sexing and our standard disease testing. Veterinary evaluation and medical care are provided when needed.
We get to know their personality, preferences and needs while providing proper nutrition, enrichment and socialization. They'll become available for adoption when they're ready.

No. Submitting a request allows us to review the situation and determine whether we have the appropriate resources and foster placement available.
Our team will review your request and contact you to discuss your bird, your circumstances, and possible next steps.
For us to give your bird the best possible care, we ask that any and all veterinary records be sent to us, if possible.
Requests outside our immediate service area may be considered individually, depending on distance, transportation, foster availability, and available resources.
In most cases, no. Once a bird is formally surrendered to Little Loud Soul Bird Rescue, ownership is transferred to the rescue and the surrender is permanent. This allows us to make decisions that are in the bird’s best interest and begin the process of rehabilitation and finding an appropriate forever home. If you’re unsure about surrendering, we encourage you to contact us before submitting a request so we can discuss all available options.
No. We can only accept birds from their legal owner or someone who has the legal authority to surrender them. If you’re trying to help a friend or family member, the owner will need to complete the surrender request or provide written authorization.
We may ask questions or request documentation to confirm ownership before accepting a surrender. Little Loud Soul Bird Rescue reserves the right to decline any surrender request if ownership cannot be verified or if there is a dispute regarding the bird’s ownership. If ownership is unclear or disputed, we may require additional documentation or written consent from all legal owners before proceeding.
If the owner is deceased, a family member, executor of the estate, or another authorized representative may contact us to discuss surrender options. We may request documentation to verify authorization before accepting the bird.
We know surrendering a beloved companion is never an easy decision. Whether you're ready to submit a request or simply need guidance, we're here to listen. We understand every situation is unique, and we'll work with you to determine the best path forward for both you and your bird.
